Twitter Web App : HP has named Enrique Lores, currently president of HPโ€™s Imaging, Printing and Solutions business, to replace Dion Weisler as CEO as of Nov. 1. Weisler is stepping down due to a family health matter.

Android : My eldest son has worked my too-small (for me) Ryzen t-shirt into his wardrobe, giving him valuable geek cred among his peers.

(I don't wear promotional t-shirts anyway, except as undershirts and sometimes for yard work.)

Android : EXCLUSIVE: Microsoft is implementing a new license scheme for Windows. Before downloading Win 10 1908, your browser will output a unique audio pattern, then listen to the microphone for confirmation. This will be to confirm you are not running Linux, since it canโ€™t play sound.

Android : Inslee's out. I was considering voting for him, unfortunately.

Twitter Web App : Spend your late lunch reading about what Intel 10th-gen Core chip is right for you! Compliments of @gordonung.โ€ฆ

Twitter Web App : One significant feature in the new build, the ability to automatically restart apps (or not) after logging off or rebooting.โ€ฆ

Twitter Web App : While we're still figuring out which laptops will use Intel's new Comet Lake and Ice Lake, Dell's refresh of its flagship XPS 13 clamshell and several Inspirons probably is a tell that Comet Lake will be the mainstream part, and Ice Lake will be premium.โ€ฆ

Twitter Web App : Intel said late last night that its Lakefield chip is scheduled to ship "late in the fourth quarter," which I think is more granular than the previous "2019" guidance. Anyway, the Hot Chips writeup is here. It's a neat, niche(?) chip.โ€ฆ

Android : Yes, it WAS just a few weeks ago that Intel launched the "Ice Lake" Core chip. Today it announced yet another 10th-gen chip, the upclocked Comet Lake, that will compete with Ice Lake (and everything else).โ€ฆ
