Twitter for iPad : This is SO big.

The group representing 159,000 physicians in the United States just came out, for the first time in their history, to support Medicare For All.

Bernie Sanders has been saying this for 40 years and doctors are finally catching up!

iPhone : On this celebration of Dr. King‘s birthday, I need to aim higher than being against hate & bigotry. I need to better acknowledge & confront the systemic racism that permeates our culture, & systems of finance, housing, healthcare, education, criminal justice, land use and more.

Twitter Web App : Thousands of unhoused people are eager for housing & services, but our system won’t help them, essentially telling them they are “not homeless enough.” It's counter-productive & maddening. Here's my Medium story on the problem and how to fix it: bit.ly/2G3jXBk

iPhone : Our movement is going all in to elect Bernie Sanders as the next president. We need everyone mobilized if we're going to win.

Join our call Sunday at 8:30 EST to join the Green New Deal political revolution!

iPhone : We need a MUCH better bus system and LA Metro is proposing a major overhaul, including changing routes & schedules w a goal of increasing frequency and reliability. Public workshops and online interactive tools to offer feedback coming soon!

iPhone : Today we officially designated Antioch Street from Via De La Paz to Swarthmore Avenue as Arnie Wishnick Way! Arnie was a pillar of the Pacific Palisades community prior to his death last year, and his memory remains an inspiration for so many.

Thank you, Arnie!

Twitter Web App : Scores of people will be spared a life on the streets by the one thing that we know ends homelessness — housing. I’m elated we broke ground on this project, and I am tremendously grateful to neighbors who embraced and said YES to being part of the solution.

Twitter Web App : Today we broke ground on 74 units of affordable & permanent supportive housing for families in WLA!
Missouri Place Apartments, which won overwhelmingly approval from West LA Sawtelle NC NC & nearby residents, is funded in part through voter-approved Proposition HHH. Everyone In LA

iPhone : 2/2 our planning committee approved a plan requiring the new owners of the former First Baptist Church of Venice — which did not receive official landmark designation from the commission — to preserve the facade and aesthetic, achieving many of the goals of landmark designation.

iPhone : This week, the City Council ratified the findings of Cultural Heritage Commission, designating the former Monday Women’s Club, which played a vital role in Venice’s African-American history, as an Historic-Cultural Landmark. On the same day,1/2

iPhone : Today: secured $$ for showers & bathrooms at 2 of cd11 largest encampments, pushed to increase $$ for homeless youth programs, launched effort to focus on housing newly homeless people. Thurs: break ground on 74-units of HHH-funded, affordable & supportive housing in WLA.

iPhone : If approved by the full City Council, my proposal would direct the Department of City Planning to effectively place a moratorium on Ellis Act evictions on the Westside until the vacancy rate increases in this incredibly tight and expensive rental market.

iPhone : Renters are being tossed out of their homes by speculators and developers & we need to stop it. Today, our Planning Committee advanced my proposal, crafted with neighbors, renters and affordable housing activists, to crack down on wave of evictions caused by condo conversions.

iPhone : Trump and his team need to stop causing homelessness, stop standing in the way of proven solutions, and stop pretending that more aggressive law enforcement is an answer to homelessness.

iPhone : Or they could rescind the tax cuts for the rich that killed or delayed more than 15,000 units of low-income housing in California alone.

iPhone : Or they could support the Fighting Homelessness Through Services & Housing Act, S. 923 and the End Homelessness Act, H.R. 1856 which further expand the housing safety net with new grants and mental health programs to help cities combat homelessness over the next five years.
