TweetDeck : Museum researcher Dr Sammy De Grave is conducting fieldwork in the Gulf. He’s surveying the local shrimp population (& even found a new shrimp record for the area!) Here’s some of his personal snaps from Failaka Island: combing beaches, lifting rocks, early starts & sunsets

TweetDeck : This shrimp genus (Cuaptes) lives inside coral reef. Theyre so small you cant hunt for them visually. To find them you chop reef rubble into a net.
The genus is prevalent in the Gulf but it was a surprise to get a new record of this particular species (Palaemonella spinulata)!

TweetDeck : This year, amongst other things, we have loaned out a taxidermied hedgehog, a few birds as well as some microscope slides of parasitic worms.
