iPhone : OTD (Yesterday) 1948 the start of the Berlin Blockade; which led to the Berlin Airlift, biggest humanitarian effort undertaken by RAF & USAF at the time, to feed and supply the people of Berlin. 43 Allied & British Commonwealth Personnel were killed. The Blockade ended in 1949.
